Who We Serve

Holistic and Compassionate Care

The goal of Noah’s Children, a program of Bon Secours and Central Virginia’s only pediatric palliative and hospice care organization is to deliver comprehensive, compassionate care for mind, body and spirit to the patient and the whole family.

Through an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses, social workers, counselors, spiritual caregivers and volunteers, we closely assess the multiple needs of children and families to develop a comprehensive plan of care aimed at:

  • Improving quality of life

  • Minimizing suffering

  • Optimizing function

  • Providing opportunities for personal and spiritual growth

Our flexible approach also means that we can modify the plan of care as the family’s needs and wishes change.

We use a combination of therapies to comfort and support children, family members and others in the child’s life. We aim to fulfill our goals with sensitivity toward our patients’ and their families’ personal, developmental, cultural and religious values, beliefs and practices.

Referral

To make a referral to Noah’s Children, please fill out the on-line form.  Once we receive the referral, we follow up with the physician for clinical information and to clarify the child’s needs. We set up an initial home visit and then give the family the option to enroll. Physicians involved in the care of the child are welcome to attend family conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings. Finally, we assess the family’s needs for nursing, spiritual care and social work.

If you have any questions about referring a patient, please contact the office at 804-287-7686 or visit our services provided page.
