Receiving Care

Noah’s Children serves children from birth up to 18 years of age with a life-threatening condition. We care for infants, children and adolescents who need palliative services and meet the eligibility requirements. Thanks to donor support, we currently are able to provide our services at no charge.

We receive referrals from pediatricians, specialists and intensive care units (PICUs and NICUs) from all of the major health care networks in Central Virginia, including  Bon Secours Richmond Health System, HCA Richmond Health System, Southside Regional Medical Center,  and Virginia Commonwealth University Health System

Once we receive the referral, we follow up with the physician for clinical information and to clarify the child’s needs. We set up an initial home visit and then give the family the option to enroll. Physicians involved in the care of the child are welcome to attend family conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings. Finally, we assess the family’s needs for nursing, spiritual care and social work.
