What is the Kids Helping Kids Program?

The purpose of the Kids Helping Kids Program is to engage the creativity and compassion of children and spread awareness of Noah’s Children’s mission in the community.  The Kids Helping Kids Program includes three tiers: youth volunteering, service learning and kids helping kids’ art project.

Youth Volunteering - We are committed to offering volunteer opportunities for youth.  Youth who volunteer report the following: a sense of purpose, compassion, altruism, gratitude, meeting new people, resilience, higher self-esteem and valuable work experience.  Youth have volunteered with meal shopping, sorting and delivering, back to school supply collection drives, shopping and sorting, event planning and implementation. Click on our events calendar to view youth volunteer opportunities for this year.

Service Learning - Youth work as a group to develop, propose and implement an idea that raises awareness, supports our families, or raises funds for the organization during the academic school year.  The group selects a project manager and assigns other roles while actively working together as a team to implement the idea.  Students gain valuable lessons in the area of communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, problem solving, commitment, accountability and compassion. Service Learning project hours are documented to meet requirements for graduation seals of achievement. Kids Helping Kids Art Project - Bon Secours Noah’s Children may not exist without the artistic talents of a kindergarten class that created an art piece 23 years ago and requested that our founder use the proceeds from the art piece “to help sick and dying kids.”  In the fall, art classes or individual artists agree to create an art piece based on the theme provided and donate their work of art to the organization. An art showcase is held in the spring to highlight the work of the students, raise awareness and funds for the organization.  Youth serve in all capacities at the event including event planning, set up, decorating, greeting, media and advertising, presenting their artwork and artist statements.   To learn more about the Kids Helping Kids Art Project, click hereIf you are interested in having your school, art class, or child participate in the art project, please complete this form.
